What is Esoteric Parenting?
In its simplest form, Esoteric Parenting comes from a belief that we were all put on this planet for a divine purpose. It is our job as parents to help our children become who they are meant to be and fulfill their purpose. In the process we are completing our purpose. Esoteric Parenting utilizes some tools, techniques and resources to help us reach that goal.
Discovering our Purpose
Finding our purpose in life doesn’t mean that we need to look outside our family. I remember when my husband and I had 3 young children. He asked me if I thought of bus driving as a career for him. I told him, “No. I look at being a father as your career. Bus Driving is what you do to pay the bills.”
I have stood behind this. This does not mean that parents cannot have a career outside the home. In some cases, this might be best for all people involved and allows for a variety of interests. However, if we are looking for a purpose or calling in our life; something that will make a real difference in the world and contribute positively, you need look no further than your own home.
Tools of the Trade
I have been parenting actively for over 18 years. Currently I have 9 children aged 18-1 year. I have learned a couple of things along the way–
- Every child is unique
- It’s all about energy
- Focus on the end goal
- Pay attention to Intention and Impact
Every Child Is Unique
I have 9 children. While working with that number of kids can be exhausting, I am so thankful that this is my path. It has taught me a really important truth in parenting–every child is unique. My first child was very mellow and easy going. I thought I was a great parent, I mean look at my kid. My second child was decidedly not mellow. If I had only had 2 children, I would have just assumed that I did something wrong.
But after having 9 children I realize that they are all completely unique, I mean sometimes night and day unique. I have been able to see them grow and develop. See their unique fears. See their unique strengths.

It’s all about Energy
Energy is something that surrounds us and gives us life. We give off energy through our presence, intentions and actions. The seasons have energy, food has energy, elements have energy and it is all interconnected.
There are many ways to work with energy. But the most important place to start is understanding that being around constantly negative energy is draining. Allowing that into our homes and minds affects not only us but our children. Guard your energy.
Focus on the End Goal
While it would be nice to have a clean home that is peaceful and quiet with children this is not always possible. In order to have this type of environment with growing children in the home requires a certain amount of control. Self-control is a necessary and great skill. Our job as parents is to help our children develop their own self-control. Their own morals, their own vision, their life purpose. When we are overbearing with our control of their actions then we are stifling their ability to develop their own self-control.
The end goal that Esoteric Parenting focuses on is the end goal of raising adults who are able to navigate the world with confidence and security.
